Born in the Karoo and brought up on homemade jams, flavourful bredies and freshly baked bread, Barbara brings her love of cosy comfort food to our kitchen.
Barbara began her award-winning career as a food editor, stylist and recipe writer at Sarie − one of South Africa’s leading lifestyle magazines. She then went on to write three popular cookbooks, while also earning the Galiova Award for Best Food Writer in South Africa. Barbara is joined by her daughter Nina Brand as part of their new multi-service culinary venture. Together, they have designed a gourmet menu of hearty home-style dishes beautifully styled and fit for a feast.
At Kimberley Anne Hotel, we have introduced an innovative solution that allows guests to order any wine they desire by the glass. This is made possible by an award-winning wine preservation process known as Le Verre de Vinne. It works by vacuuming a precise amount of oxygen from the open bottle to prevent the wine from oxidising, thus maintaining its freshness and flavour. In this way, a bottle of wine can be perfectly resealed as if the cork had never been removed at all!
